GIRLS VOLLEYBALL PLAYER KATIE BRISK HONORED!
Congratulations on your Classic 8 All-Conference honorable mention for Libero!

KMHS COLLABORATES WITH COLLEGE STUDENTS!!! Our KMHS Orchestra students recently had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with students and faculty from UW-Eau Claire! They performed some of their concert repertoire and joined our KM orchestras for an inspiring clinic led by Dr. Nobuyoshi Yasuda. It was an especially meaningful experience for our own orchestra teacher, Ms. Sternberg, a UW-Eau Claire alum, who was thrilled to welcome her former professor to work with her students. We are so grateful to UW-Eau Claire for sharing their time and talent with us!

WNKM 2024 Sectional Highlights + State Qualifiers!
What an incredible season we've had! We are thrilled to announce our state meet qualifiers, but first, we want to celebrate our team's remarkable achievements at sectionals:
We had 18 entries - 17 swimming and 1 diving. The numbers speak for themselves: 17 season or lifetime-best individual swims out of 18 individual entries, and ALL 3 relays achieved season-best times! Our relays dropped an impressive 12.82 seconds, and individually we knocked off a combined 41.89 seconds including swims from Brit Farrar, Tressa Navarrete and Taylor Safranski. These achievements demonstrate dedication and hard work throughout the season. The 200 free relay consisted of the same 4 swimmers last year and they improved their time by roughly 7 seconds, a testament to some great coaching they received this year from the new WNKM coach, Jasper Appleton!
Quinn Lodes took 2nd at Sectionals for diving narrowly missing qualifying for the State Championship. Quinn’s performance was a PR by 25 points for a total of 378.55, and landed her as the #4 freshman in the state.
We have an amazing lineup for next Saturday, 3 individual events and 2 relays qualified! WOW!
Our qualifiers for the WIAA Girls Swim State Meet on Saturday, November 16th at Waukesha South are as follows:
200 Freestyle: Sara Wiedoff & Rowan Rossi-Weida
100 Freestyle: Rowan Rossi-Weida
500 Freestyle: Sara Wiedoff
200 Freestyle Relay: Rowan Rossi-Weida, Adrienne Prymas, Katie Bell, Sara Wiedoff
400 Freestyle Relay: Rowan Rossi-Weida, Katie Bell, Chloe Bell, Sara Wiedoff

BOYS SOCCER HONORED!
Congratulations on your all-conference honors!
Ian Daubert, First Team - Midfielder
Grayson Sikorski, Honorable Mention - Midfielder
Landon Daley and Colin VanVoorhis, Honorable Mention - Defender

KM SALUTES OUR VETERANS!
While many of us have our sights set on the Thanksgiving turkey or that big college football rivalry, another special day in November should not be overlooked. Born out of an acknowledgment of the end of one of history’s most significant wars, Veterans Day falls on November 11 each year. Though our appreciation for our nation’s veterans should be a constant in our lives, today specifically people across the world will take time to gather and recognize our veterans’ incomparable contributions to preserving our way of life.
To help honor our veterans:
Ask them about their service when you thank them… Perhaps ask: What did you do in the military? How long did you serve? What was your favorite moment in all your time in the service? Then listen and give them your full attention.
Don't Confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day - Veterans Day is a time to thank those who are serving or have served and are still with us. Memorial Day is to reflect and remember those who lost their lives in service to their country. Confusing the two or combining the two diminishes the importance of both.
Fly a flag - correctly. Check out Military.com's guide to the flag.
Donate - Many wonderful organizations offer all manner of support, services, and appreciation for our service members. Consider leveraging insight from Charity Navigator or Guidestar.org to help you select a non-profit to maximize your gift.

KM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND KMHS STUDENT GOVERNMENT NEED YOUR SHOE BOXES AND YOUR DONATIONS!!! KM elementary schools and high school student government are participating in a Friendsgiving collection that will conclude on November 26th. Donated or purchased items will be collected into shoe boxes. These "shoe boxes for Santa" will then be personally delivered to students at WD Williams Elementary School in Swannanoa North Carolina. These students have been terribly impacted by hurricanes, tornados, and flooding. Most were left with nothing. Our goal is to gather up much-needed clothing items like hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, and also a few fun things like toys, art supplies, or puzzles. The school has 450 students at 4 elementary schools, so our goal is to meet and even exceed that need. Drop off your donations at any KM elementary school or at KMHS!

DANCE COMPETES THIS WEEKEND!

The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Please note: This musical contains adult themes which may not be suitable for some young audience members. Adults: $15, Seniors (65+): $12, Students (K-12): $12. Tickets will be available online beginning Friday, November 8th at https://sites.google.com/a/kmsd.edu/kmperformmusical/home. Tickets can also be purchased in the auditorium lobby one hour prior to the performance using cash or check only. Patrons wishing to purchase via credit card will be directed to the online purchasing site.
