KM ONE ACT WINS BIG AT STATE THEATRE FESTIVAL!!! Our KM one act "I Was There" won multiple awards at the WISDAA State Theatre Festival held at UW- Stevens Point this weekend. Critics Choice Award, Outstanding Ensemble, and Outstanding Technical Theatre. There were also many individual awards: Outstanding Direction - Emma Hipp,
Outstanding Acting - William Kastner, Arabelle Langreder, and Zachary Bentheimer. Out of 44 schools invited to perform at State, KM's team is in the elite third of presenters who earned the full slate of awards including Critics Choice.This is especially exciting as "I Was There" was a product of KM Drama Club's Student Directed One Act Festival and started as a student-directed project; usually WISDAA one acts have faculty directors. The judges, UW- Stevens Point theatre department, and directors from other schools gave multiple compliments and were amazed that this show was primarily student driven with minimal artistic input from faculty advisory Ms. Kean. The following KM Perform students were a part of this project: Emma Hipp (Director, grade 12), Joseph Anderson (Lighting Design & Spotlight, grade 12), Abigail Yatzeck (Light Board, grade 9), Josephine Byrne (Cast, grade 12), Antonio Corchado (Cast, grade 12), William Kastner (Cast, grade 12), Isabella Kreblin (Cast, grade 12), Arabelle Langreder (Cast, grade 12), Danielle Longdon (Cast, grade 12), and Norah Reddington (Cast, grade 12).

SIGNING DAY!!! Yesterday was the second signing day this week and it is a wonderful testament to KM that 18 athletes have advanced to the collegiate level in this fall signing season. SPECIAL TREATS FOR SIGNING DAY!!! Kayla Heyse, a senior in Ms. O'Gorman's Pro Start class and member of Culinary Club, is the talent behind our signing day cookie tradition. Kayla spent more than four hours planning, making, and decorating cookies for students who signed this week. A lot of time, effort, and love goes into making them and we would like to recognize Kayla for her talent and her kindness. BEST BUDDIES!!! We had an amazing turnout last night at our Best Buddies Culver's Cares night. Thank you KM nation for showing up to support our Best Buddies Club and mission. With your continued support we were able to raise over $400 and celebrated Friendsgiving with a party, games, pie, and an art project. We always have so much fun spending time with our Buddies!

BOYS VOLLEYBALL AWARDS!!! The boys volleyball program finished their season 16-15 after a loss in the Sectional semi-finals. ACADEMIC ALL STATE!!! The following seniors earned WFCA Academic All-State Honors by maintaining a 3.75 GPA or higher throughout their high school career: Hawk Denor, Pierce Engstrom, Noah Griswold, Aiden Jacques, Caden Jurci, Cody Lang, and Chase Schimpf. This is a tremendous achievement for out athletes who balance academics and athletics.

ONE ACT PLAY!!! This past weekend members of the one act play "I Was There" presented at the WISDAA Sectional One Act Play Festival and advanced to the State Festival Contest! This is especially exciting as "I Was There" was a product of KM Drama Club's Student Directed One Act Festival and started as a student directed project. KM Perform Senior Emma Hipp and her dedicated cast and crew earned high marks at both the District Sectional Levels. This is only the second time in KM history that a Student Directed One Act performed at State. Additionally, KM has 4 students who will perform as part of the Wisconsin Thespy Excellence Award Contest with individual events in solo musical theatre and acting. DPI REPORT CARD HIGHLIGHTS!!! The High School of Health Science (HS^2) is the TOP HIGH SCHOOL in the state per DPI report cards! The Kettle Moraine School District is 15th among all K-12 districts in the state. The district's scores in ELA and math are the highest in seven years. "We will continue to improve and focus on both student growth and achievement with aligned curriculum and quality instruction," said KMSD Superintendent, Dr. Stephen Plum. Other highlights include Wales and Cushing Elementary significantly exceeding expectations with Wales earning an impressive 93.9 overall score. HS^2 and Wales showed 100 point growth in ELA, with Wales also earning 100pt growth in math and HS^2 earning 100pt achievement in ELA and MATH. KM Global also significantly exceeded expectations, as did KMMS with an 89.1 overall score and a 96.8 in math.
